Eager epicureans can cure their curious culinary cravings during an adventures in Miami's peacock paraded and historically known area, Coconut Grove. (Try saying that quickly five times). Dishcrawl, a national start-up founded on the premise that communities can be brought together through good food and good company, is back in Miami to bring together communities as they celebrate their love for food.
On Wednesday, Jun 18th, at 7 pm. foodies from all over Miami will come together to meet neighbors and new friends while stopping at 3 different restaurants to try offerings of their signature dishes. Mingle and try unfamiliar plates along with traditional Coconut Grove favorites. The mission of Dishcrawl is to give locals a reason to get out of the house and socially engage with each other while also helping local restaurants gain exposure.

2013 Winners of the American Fine Wine Competition Announced

On February 5th, the winners of the 2013 American Fine Wine Competition, presented by Patriot National Insurance Group, were publicly announced at a Press and Bloggers Cocktail Party held at American Social in Fort Lauderdale. A total of 632 of America's finest wines were invited to participate in the competition, held at Florida International University Biscayne Bay Campus on January 20th and 21st , 2013. Twenty-four nationally acclaimed sommeliers tasted and judged the wines during the two days, awarding the Best of Show and Best of Class honors. Guests to the cocktail party enjoyed some of the 2013 AFWC Award Winning Wines as they savored an array of hors d'oeuvres, while helping to raise money for charity. The winners were:

The Awaited Dates of the American Fine Wine Competition Have Been Announced

The dates of the Sixth Annual American Fine Wine Competition have been announced. Created in 2006 by three winery insiders, Shari Gherman and Month and Sara Preiser, The AFWC, an exclusive, invitation only competition, showcases American-produced world class wines to a national audience. Twenty-four top wine industry professionals spend two days rigorously judging over 600 wines, then over 400 wine lovers are invited to celebrate the awarded wines, key sponsors and crucial charities at the AFWC Gala. Since its inception, the AFWC has proudly raised over half a million dollars for local and national charities and continues to contribute to vital non-profit organizations through the proceeds and donations from each event.
This series of events begins with a private Press Judging taking place in Miami at the St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort on November 14, 2012 and in Delray Beach, at 32 East on November 15, 2012. Hand selected press and media personnel will be invited to partake in the mock judging, followed by a four-course gourmet meal with wine pairings. JM Lexus will present the lavish Kick Off Reception at the luxurious Boca Raton Resort & Club on January 10, 2013. On January 20-21, 2013, 24 official AFWC Judges will examine, taste and evaluate over 600 wines during the American Fine Wine Competition at Florida International University in North Miami Beach.
On Friday, February 1, 2013, the 2013 AFWC Results will be announced at an elegant VIP Party in Fort Lauderdale. This intimate celebration will be an evening of undeniable American celebration. South Florida Bloggers and Press Personnel will gather on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 for the launch of the first annual Bloggers and Press Cocktail Party announcing the results and hosted by American Social. The AFWC Wine Carnival and Consumer Challenge will take place in Boca Raton on Thursday, February 21, 2013. This exciting event will be open to the public and will provide a unique evening with perfectly selected wines paired with delectable cuisines from outstanding chefs. On Thursday, April 4, 2013, The Boca Raton Resort & Club will welcome guests to the AFWC Gala in a celebration of the nation's finest wines while raising awareness and funds for the Diabetes Research Institute.
