Weekend in South Beach? Check Out These Hot Spots And Live Like A Local

My readers ask me a lot for recommendations to restaurants and hot spots in Miami. Sometimes they're celebrating a birthday, an anniversary, or maybe they're down for the weekend and just want to hang out in South Beach and live like a local. So... in answer to those messages, emails and DM's, here are a few of my favorite spots within a two block radius. The great thing is, they are all walking distance from each other so you can hit them all up without even having to UBER in between during a weekend getaway.  Enjoy.

1) DOA Miami Beach - 2000 Collins Avenue.  No this is not the title of an episode in CIS Miami. It's actually the newest venture of restaurateur Arjun Waney, who also brings us Zuma and Coya. A fusion between Asian and Latin American flavors, you will love not just the food, but the ambiance and cocktails as well. Tip: Their Croquetas are a must! You can't have just 10.

2) Villa Azur - 309 23rd Street.  Whether you are into beautiful people-watching or simply appreciate basking in the ambiance of a French-Mediterranean villa, Villa Azur offers an amazing experience with its superb cuisine and Mediterranean-inspired libations.  Call it a date night or an "I want to find a date night". Either way, you will not be disappointed.

3) WALL Lounge - 2201 Collins Avenue.  So you want to dance? Then you have to check out this trendy spot located in the W Hotel.  It's not very big but it's definitely happening. With its International DJ's and Brazilian flair, it'll have you partying like a VIP all night long.

4) Paris 6 Bistro - 2200 Collins Avenue - You've drank and you've partied till the late hours of the night. Now you need some good food to restart your engines. Check this out.  Paris 6 features French delights by way of Brazil. Just imagine biting into a Croque Monsieur or Steak Tartare amidst chandeliers and vivid paintings that stare back at you. But did I say you have to start drinking? Non monsieur. Keep doing that and accompany it with one of their rich, mouth-watering desserts... for 24 hours straight.
