Yes y’all it’s that time again! The foodie holiday of the year in the 305: Miami Spice!! So go grab your Mumus and your stretchy pants, and start making your list of all the restaurants you’re going to visit this year. The culinary fun will run from August 1 - September 30. I’ve already started my list and here’s one spot you definitely want to put at the top of your list: Mareva 1939 at the National Hotel Miami Beach. They are offering an amazing menu, full of traditional Spanish foods with their very own special twist. We had the opportunity to preview their Miami Spice offerings and we fell in love with the food, cocktails, service and ambiance.
For appetizers: the Endives and Boquerones salad, topped with toasted breadcrumbs and manchego cheese is outstanding. We also shared the Grilled artichokes, served with Ibérico Ham on a pool of manchego and truffle cream. I loved the combination of flavors and textures in both dishes and all the ingredients complemented each other well.
For entrees: That Pork Rib-Eye was insane. Truly! It was tender and juicy and each bite brought a smile to my face. I literally couldn’t stop spooning the wild mushroom and oloroso sauce, or the boniato purée with pickled mustard seeds. The second entree we indulged in was the Pan Seared Branzino served with potato cream, shrimp and clam salsa verde. Let me tell you… it’s not easy to find a white fish that is packed with great taste and prepared with bold flavors. This one definitely was!
For dessert: The options are the Manchego Cheese Flan with red bell pepper compote, and the Tarta De Santiago with berries, orange and compote. It’s hard to choose a favorite between the two because they were both delicious. Try them both and share!
The cocktails are Out of this world! Definitely order the Pear with Me and Childhood Memories if you’re into a sweet treat. If you’re looking for something with a spicy kick, try the Melon or Sandia, and if you want a little of both, go with the Endless Passion.
Enjoy all three courses of this fantastic Miami Spice Dinner for just $60. Stay tuned for more Miami Spice recommendations.
