Staycation in the Florida Everglades -

If you’re looking for a spot to go for an adventure, a connection w/nature & wildlife or a relaxing retreat, then read on.

Flamingo Everglades Lodge is only 1 hour & 45 min. from Miami (or just 45 minutes from the Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center in Homestead), yet it’s a world away.

This new unique hotel in the heart of Flamingo in the Florida Everglades, offers 24 spectacular rooms made from shipping containers lifted 13 ft. off the ground. The innovative design was built to withstand the Florida weather & is absolutely amazing.

The Studio, One Bedroom & Two Bedroom Suites come with ice-cold AC (a must in the Everglades), Wi-Fi, Kitchenettes, Living Area with a fan, & a Full Bath, and they all have balconies facing the Florida Bay.

Amenities also include a restaurant with indoor/outdoor seating offering breakfast, lunch & dinner, along with a bar open for lunch & dinner. There are lots of activities available such as Boat Tours & bike, kayak, canoe and boat rentals.

For those that like to rough it a little more, there are also eco-tents for glamping along with regular campgrounds. You can also rent a houseboat if you want to stay in the water.

Sunrise & sunsets are incredible in Flamingo, and the night sky showcases a myriad of stars you can’t see anywhere else. There are hiking trails to enjoy the different ecosystems of the Everglades and plenty of opportunities to birdwatch and experience the wildlife. You can even get a bit of history in by visiting the HM69 Nike Missile Base, one of the best preserved relics of the Cold War right here in our backyard.

We truly fell in love during our weekend at Flamingo, and it’s easy to see why The New York Times recently named the Flamingo Lodge as one of 52 Places to Visit in 2024. One visit & you’ll be hooked.
